1. Get out
When the feeling of despair starts to creep in, do not retreat to your room; it will just heighten your pregnancy blues! Get out and get some sunlight. Pregnancy is a demanding stage of a woman's life, one that can overwhelm even the strongest and most organized person. Ditch the bedroom and head out to your porch or your front yard. A little sunlight will help chase those blues away.
2. Get Dressed
Do not let yourself go without putting on the effort to look good. Even if you're not up to it, push yourself to get a shower, apply lotion and moisturizer, and put on makeup. The blues won't leave you if you stay unkempt and, well, dirty. Stay pretty even if you're just spending the entire day at home. A pretty preggy makes a happy Mommy.
3. Pace Yourself
You used to live a fast-paced life and then suddenly, your doctor told you to slow down because you're having a delicate pregnancy. Big change, huh? It can be very difficult in the beginning and it can make you feel like you're not being you but understand that with as many other things in life, there are tradeoffs. You sure don't want to feel unnecessary cramping down there because you spent the entire day drinking coffee to finish that business presentation.
Most hospitals offer free childbirth education classes. All you need to do is sign up online or pick up the phone and say you're interested in attending. These classes give you the opportunity to interact with other infanticipating women and it is comforting to know you're not alone in this journey. Don't be shy to raise your hand and ask questions. You'll be happy you did.

5. Discuss Your Situation with Adults
If you have a partner, tell him/her you're feeling down. They love you; they'll help you get through it. If you are continuing the pregnancy on your own, talk to your Mom, friends, and siblings. Someone will always be there willing to discuss this with you. There are support groups you can join too. Don't keep this to yourself. It's not healthy for you and the baby.

6. Check Your Diet
You may not notice it but your diet can significantly affect your mood. It may even impact your sleeping hours. Diligently do all tests and follow-up examinations with your OB/GYN. They'll tell you if something has gone off chart and if you have high blood pressure or developed gestational diabetes.

7. Seek Help
If you're suffering the extreme blues - the type where you don't want to talk to people and are already thinking about hurting yourself - don't be ashamed to call for help. You're not less of a woman if you raise that white flag and pick up the phone. In fact, you're even stronger for acknowledging your weakness and doing something about it.
Anyone out there who experienced the blues while pregnant? What else did you do to stay on top of your preggy situation?
