1. Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry Tom and Jerry has to be one of my first cartoons that are good for kids to watch, because I love this little show! It’s a very clean show, and always entertaining to children. It may be a bit older, but that doesn’t denote from its entertainment value! You can buy episodes of Tom and Jerry online or even find it in stores.

2. Veggie Tales

Veggie Tales My parents were always selective with the cartoons my siblings and I could watch growing up, and this was one of them. Veggie Tales are clean, wholesome cartoons for kids to watch that are entertaining and cute! I love that each episode has a moral value to teach at the end.

3. Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo Some people may disagree with me on this one, but I think Finding Nemo is a great cartoon for kids to watch. If your child is easily frightened, some aspects of this cartoon may scare your little one, but it’s an otherwise heartwarming story that mixes humor in with great values about love and life.

4. Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes Here’s another oldie but goodie cartoon that is good for kids to watch. Looney Tunes have been around for quite some time, yet they never cease to bring a smile to any viewer's face no matter their age. Some cartoons are not actually “fun” for parents to watch with their children, since they are immature for an adult. But Looney Tunes can be enjoyed by every age!

5. The Backyardigans

The Backyardigans If you need to pop in something to get your child’s attention for a little bit while you finish getting something done, Backyardigans will do the trick! Kids in the younger ages really enjoy this cartoon, and it always has a sweet lesson at the end about life, love, or friendship. No innuendo to worry about either!

6. Barbie Movies

Barbie Movies If you have a little princess on your hands, consider letting her watch the Barbie movies! I’ve loved each one that I’ve seen so far, and they are all age appropriate and family-friendly. Besides, what little girl doesn’t like to watch movies about princesses or flying dragons or secret underwater caves? I’m an adult and I even enjoyed watching the Barbie movies with my younger siblings!

7. Little Einsteins

Little Einsteins Kids like to watch cartoons for the entertainment, but they don’t realize that cartoons can be a learning tool as well! Little Einsteins is a great cartoon to encourage learning and promote educational values. This one is best for younger ages, but older kids may enjoy it too. You know your child better than anyone, so judge accordingly.

These days, cartoons can be just as much for adults as they are for kids. It’s entertaining, but dangerous too, since kids pick up on innuendos more than we realize. Which cartoons on this list do you let your child watch? Are there any other cartoons you think are good for kids to watch? Please comment below with your own thoughts and opinions!

Dora and Rubarb

What about doc mcstuffins? She's cute!

I would much rather let my kids watch my pet monster or even the bugs bunny and tweety show but never the Barbie movies. Barbie makes women and girls feel imperfect.

I think it's important to remember that anything you let your kids watch can be a lesson for them - the difference between a cartoon fight and a real fight, for example, is a great lesson for any child. Knowing that tv and cartoons are acted or drawn and not like real life is valuable, and can be a not-too-challenging way to help introduce your kids to all sorts of abstract ideas. Just a thought.

Super Why! Is a great educational show. Makes reading and spelling out words fun for the kiddos.

Blue's Clues, Arthur and The Magic School Bus. Top 3 favourites in my childhood! ...Though I still watch Arthur :))

I love all Hesse for my self and my kiddo, I mean except the Barbie but other than that I love them

Looney Tunes :D

Lol I remember when I was little my parents would watch sponge bob and Dora with me sometimes.
