However, if it rains so much that flooding is a concern, you may want to check out home owners insurance to make sure that your family and home are taken care of in case disaster strikes.
4. Build a Fort
Regardless of your age, there's nothing more awesome than building an indoor fort. Just find some old blankets and use the cushions from the couch and you'll have hours of fun. It gives your children a chance to be creative by designing the fort and will keep them entertained, without fighting or arguing with each other.

7. Indoor Scavenger Hunt
This is fun if you have a larger house where your kids can wander around for a while. Have them create little paper bags to carry around and give them a list of 10 things to find somewhere inside the house. It will be like an Easter egg hunt you can play all year long. Whoever wins the scavenger hunt can receive a prize of some sort as well. This game is easy to include a bunch of children if their friends are over playing too.
There are hundreds of ideas you can come up with for a rainy day, and the more you can keep the kids occupied, the better your day will to be. Even though it's not nearly as awesome as a beautiful, sunny day, a rainy day gives you the opportunity to spend time with those most precious to you -- even if means being cooped up in the house all day.
