5 Cool Tips to Cope with the Chaos of Being a New Mom ...

We all need tips to cope as a new mom. There are good days. There are bad days. When you’re a mom, you might have more bad days than good. This is not to say that motherhood is bad. It’s just that it gets too chaotic and you end up having bad days.

Can you imagine how it could get for a new mom? Being one, I’m not just imagining it. I’m living it. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom. I love the part where I stayed home for a couple of months to enjoy motherhood. Unfortunately, it didn’t last forever. I had to go back to work and face the reality of leaving my baby behind.

At first, it made me very anxious. I couldn’t concentrate at work and things were really getting out of hand. Leaving my baby behind was just one of the many things that made my days very chaotic. If you’re a new mom, work days and weekends can get pretty chaotic.

I just couldn’t cope but I had to shape up and I had to do it soon. Luckily, I’m surviving it. Here are the 5 important tips to cope as a new mom.

1 Get Help ASAP

At first, I didn’t want to get help, but this is one of the best tips to cope as a new mom. Since I had a couple of months to stay home with my new baby, I didn’t move fast enough to get help. That led me to panic when I realized that I had to get back to work soon. The reality was setting in and I had to find a sitter ASAP.

This is the best tip I can give you. Get help ASAP and don’t wait for reality to set in. That will help you lessen the stress and help you cope with crazy days ahead.

2 Take That Nap

I have a couple of new mom friends as well. The most common thing we talk about is sleep. We talk about sleep as if it’s some kind of luxury. It probably is but it’s a kind of luxury that we could all easily indulge in. It’s free. So why not take that nap to feel refreshed.

3 Get Some Exercise

I know how hard it is to get back to shape, especially after giving birth. So I’m not going to tell you to get back in shape. That’s too unfair and truth be told, that was the last thing on my mind when I gave birth. Instead, I’m going to recommend that you get some exercise. Bike, run, or walk. Just do something that’s going to help you sweat it out. Believe me. You will feel a lot better when you sweat things out.

4 Eat Right

Take one good look at that bag of chips and turn away from it. Instead, grab an apple. When you eat right, you feel right. When you feel right, you have more energy to cope with the chaos of motherhood.

5 Inhale and Exhale

This works for me all the time. Take that deep breath when things are too chaotic. Close your eyes if you want but make sure to inhale and to exhale before taking on the challenges that face you.

I’m no expert. I’m just a mom, a new mom at that. But these cool tricks help me a lot.
