For you, however, it doesn't have to be that way if you follow my simple list of 7 things to remember when packing your diaper bag. I grew up the eldest of 7 children, so you can imagine the number of times I've had to pack a diaper bag in my young life of 23 years. And now, I'm working on a second child of my own, so see, already, I'm a pro! LOL! Diapers

Of course, you can't forget the diapers! And yet, many mothers tend to pack a couple, only to discover later that they haven't packed enough! You don't want to have to leave that little butt bare, do you? If not, it's a good idea to plan for packing one diaper for every 1 1/2 hours you will be gone. Chances are, you will not be changing diapers every 1 1/2 hours, but it's better to be on the safe side, don't you agree?

2

Wipies

Wipes of all kinds, certainly. Not only will you need wipes for baby's bottom, but you should also carry some of the disinfecting wipes for shopping carts and such, and some of the special cleansing cloths for pacifiers and bottle nipples. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen mothers have to find a bathroom to wash a nipple that's touched the dirty store floor. It's much easier to have the wipes right there, so you can wipe and go on!

3

Extra Clothes

Don't be like some moms and be stranded somewhere with a naked baby because you forgot extra clothes. Many times, infants will go potty and the poop will end up traveling up the back of the clothes. It's best to pack at least two extra sets of clothes if you're going to be out for the day. If you're just going to be gone a few hours, one extra set should be enough.

4

Extra Shirt for Yourself

Face it. Babies spit up, and sometimes it can be rather disgusting. But you're a prepared mother, and you've tucked an extra shirt either in your diaper bag or your car, and in no time, you're smelling nice and fresh once again. It's great to be prepared, isn't it?

5

Oragel

It's a lifesaver to a mother's who is out getting groceries, or trying to enjoy her family member's wedding. Teething pains can start at any given time, so it's a good idea to have some on hand anywhere you happen to be! Trust me! I learned this one the hard way...

Tylenol

Another very important item to remember is your baby Tylenol (and your own Tylenol for when the colic crying gives you a headache!). You never know when you're going to need these things, so plan on having them when you need them. Another medicine to keep with your Tylenol is gas drops. Sometimes breastfeeding mothers eat things that doesn't agree with baby's tummy at all. The result is a screaming baby! Fix this real quick with a dose of gas drops! They will become your best friend!

Your Keys, Your Money, Your Lipstick...

I've found that with today's stylish diaper bag choices, it's perfectly easy to combine both diaper bag and purse into one nifty carry-all. Most bags have a place for all your personal stuff, therefore eliminating your purse altogether. And that, my friends, is way nice! once bag, one car seat, and you're ready to take on the day!

Being prepared is what great mommies do best! So, follow this list, along with the other things you know you need, and you'll be prepared for whatever comes your way!
