7. Advise Your Child to Hang out with Your Friends in Your Home

Try to encourage your child to spend time with his (her) friends in your own home so you’ll be able to keep an eye on what they are doing or notice where they are going. Have snacks and think of fun activities they could do so you’ll help them enjoy that time spend at home.

Talk to the parents of your child’s friends and advise them to do the same.

It’s more than okay to think about your child’s safety, but at the same time, you should try not to over exaggerate so you won’t turn your kid into a paranoid adult. Find the perfect balance between keeping them safe and allowing them to face all kinds of dangers on their own. Can you think of other ways to ensure your child’s safety? Please share your advice with us so we could all learn from your experience!
