Heart Bunny

While there are many animal crafts for kids to choose from, this one is perhaps the easiest. For this one, you will need to cut out three heart shapes from construction paper; one small, one medium and one large. Help kids turn the hearts upside down on the large and medium hearts, so that the humps are pointing down, and glue them onto a piece of paper with the large heart on the bottom and the medium heart place just above it - this will be the bunny's body and head. Glue the smaller heart right-side up just above the bunny's ears. Let kids decorate their heart bunnies with crayons, markers and googly eyes.

Love Bug

Get bit by a love bug with this super sweet kid’s animal craft idea. For this craft, you will need an empty toilet paper or paper towel tube. Hold the paper towel tube vertically and glue the tips of the hearts on either side of the tube, near the center – this will be the wings. Glue some pipe cleaners to the top of the tube for antenna and then let kids decorate the rest of the craft anyway they wish; with googly eyes, markers, paint, stickers; whatever floats their boat.

3

Heart Fish

Make a friendly fish out of heart shapes. Cut out a large heart from construction paper, position it on its side and glue it onto a piece of paper. Cut out three small heart shapes and glue one in between the larger hearts humps so that the point is facing in, creating a mouth. Glue another heart to the top and another to the bottom of the larger heart, so that the humps are facing out, creating fins. Glue a googly eye above the mouth and voila - you have a heart-shaped fish!

4

Heart Elephant

Make a super sweet and super lovey elephant craft out of hearts. For this craft, cut out three hearts, all the same site. Position one heart straight and position the two remaining hearts to either side of the straight heart so that the humps are pointing out, forming ears. Cut out a rectangle and glue it to the center heart for a trunk and complete the craft with a pair of googly eyes.

5

A Heart Mouse

Nobody will be jumping on the table and screeching when they see this sweet little heart-shaped mouse craft. This one is super simple. You just need to cut out a medium- to large-sized heart and glue some googly eyes to the center. Draw a nose with a pink marker or crayon on the tip of the heart and then cut out some whiskers from black yarn and glue them onto either side of the nose. Easy peasy!

Valentine Giraffe

Make a giraffe that looks like it got bit by a love bug. Print out a blackline picture of a giraffe and let kids put the spots on it. Instead of spots, however, have them draw hearts or use heart-shaped stickers as the spots.

Hogs and Kisses

Your kids will love making a cheery pink pig for a Valentine's Day decoration. Cut a large heart and three medium sized hearts out of pink construction paper. Turn the medium hearts upside down and glue one in the center of the larger heart, creating a nose for the pig. Glue the remaining two hearts on either side of the top of the humps of the larger heart, creating the pigs ears. Add some yes and a smile and your kids will be 'oinking' for Valentine's Day.

You can use these heart-shaped animals as decorations for your house, or your kids can give them out as Valentine’s. Can you think of any other animals that kids can make out of hearts?
