Hopper

human action, person, grass, child, toddler, You may have heard this name before from the bad guy of Speed, actor Dennis Hopper, but it's rare that we hear it as a first name. In 1993, Sean Penn and Robin Wright named their son Hopper Jack after Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson, but it seems that the trend of this cute uncommon baby name hasn't caught on yet. In the English and Scottish origin it has an occupational meaning of "acrobat," and in Dutch it means "hop grower or seller." What do you think of this baby name; is it cool and will we hear it more?

5

Auden

human action, person, infant, nose, male, Though this cute uncommon baby name can be used for either gender, as actor Noah Wyle has given his little girl this great name, I like it as an option for little boys now that the name Aiden has become very popular. If you are a fan of poetry you may recognize this handsome name from the famous poet, W.H. Auden, which would make a great reason to name your son in the poet's honor! In English "Auden" means "old friend."

We named our four month old Hopper Jack. My husband and I don't have horribly popular names and wanted unique names for our kids. Jack is a name we absolutely love and Hopper goes perfect in front of it. For everyone who knocked the name Hopper, it grows on you! Wouldn't change it for the world!

i like #21.

My oldest daughter's name is Alora Nicolette -- we called her Nico forever-- she is now 23 and I still ;dont hear her name too often -- My twins are 10 their names are Marissa Rayne and Serafin Grace ---My husband names marissa where I named Serafin -- I love uncommon names :)

@ Bluebird. Yes! Thank you for your wisdom. Our children aren't favourite toys, they are people who will grow into adulthood.

My name used to be uncommon but it is becoming very popular quickly and was recently added to the 2012 Top Ten list. I'm not sure how I feel about that...I enjoyed my unique name while it lasted, as it was picked especially for me and only common to people who sing, listen to opera, or speak Italian. Aria (ARE eee ahh) is such a beautiful name but it was frustrating when I was younger because people rarely pronounced it correctly or made fun of it--area the math term or the little mermaid.

Even though I kind of like the name Hopper, in Dutch it definitely doesn't mean 'hop grower or seller'. In fact, it isn't a Dutch word at all. And I would know, as I am Dutch :)

I like these names.. I have one of the most common names around Olivia. So when naming my girls I didn't go with the most common route. My oldest name is Jurnee and my twins are Jayla & Janae

I loved Gannon, Auden and Doe! I named my girls Cerenity & Charizma. I call them Ren & Riz for short! <3
